Are you a good judge of character?

Yes. Words and actions are manifestation of 2 primary elements of life we are born with, and die with.
These two elements are NATURE and CHARACTER.
I’ll draw a parallel of these elements with genetics. In genetics there are two elements of a life, viz., genotype and phenotype. Genotype is what is ‘inside’ you, and phenotype in what is ‘outwardly visible’. And you are born with it and die with it.
While NATURE is the phenotype, CHARACTER is the genotype.
Let me explain.
If we talk about the nature of person, we say, ‘so and so is very polite’, or ‘so and so is very rude’, or ‘so and so is very jovial’. So on and so forth. This is what explains the NATURE of person.
When we talk about the character of a person, we say, ‘so and so is very selfish’, or ‘so and so is a very kind person’, or ‘so and so is a narcissist’. So on and so forth. This is what explains the CHARACTER of a person.
Now, you may find a person, who is ‘outwardly’ very polite, but could very well be a narcissist.
Likewise, you may have a person who is very rude, but could be an extremely kind person with a big heart.
NATURE is easy to capture, CHARACTER is not.
However, if we observe ‘so and so’s’ actions, we will be able to gauge his/her character as well.
So, to conclude, it’s very simple to JUDGE A PERSON, leave aside judging someone’s character.
