FEW WORDS, BUT BANG ON!

Running between two for 3 years was my baptism to the college

Daily writing prompt
What colleges have you attended?

For undergrads in Delhi University, Anthropology and Geology were not taught in any college. They were the only two departments teaching undergrads.

For all undergrads of Anthropology and Geology, the boys would enroll in Hansraj College and the girls would enroll in Miranda House, both colleges located in the North Campus of Delhi University.

We would shuttle between the department and college for different classes. Classes for the subsidiary subjects were held at the college, while the classes for the main subjects were held at the university department. For all other subjects, classes were held in the departments only for postgrads.

In those days (1979-84), studying at the North Campus of Delhi University used to be a matter of pride. It would admit the cream of students. The memories of spending 5 years (undergrad + postgrad) at the North Campus is etched permanently.

Hansraj college is located at the fringe of the university campus. We would first attend the classes for the main subject and then ran to catch up with the subsidiary classes at the college, about a couple of kilometers away.

It was only during our postgrad days that we settled in the department.
