All of us do things differently. I also used to do things differently. But, the only problem is that it made no difference in my life.
Then I started taking some of the proverbs and quotes seriously. Those motivational quotes I used to laugh at. Now I take inspiration from a few (though).
The quote that changed the way I now do things ‘differently’ is:
“A Goal without a Plan is just a Wish”.
This changed the way I started my days.
Setting goals was not difficult, achieving them was. Now, with the motivated words, I get down to planning. If I set up multiple goals, I make plans for each goal. And it’s showing results. At least, I can see thing happening. So, all I am doing differently is, a) I am setting well defined goals, and b) I am making plans for each goal.
We get frustrated when we can’t solve a problem. I learned from another quote, how to solve a problem.
“If you have not been able to solve a problem, you have not understood the problem”.
This was bang on! Understanding a problem is a problem!
The problem is, more often than not, it’s not just ONE problem. There are n number of problems within a problem. So, we list each problem, one after the other, and then solve each problem at a time. We may not solve the problem completely but will be quite close to it.
What I could do differently is:
“Set goals and plan for each goal”.
“Understand the problems within a problem, and solve each at a time”.
