FEW WORDS, BUT BANG ON!

Consistency! Consistency! Consistency!

Every social media pundit (read: influencer) keeps harping on this one word: consistency.

“If you want to excel in life, be consistent”. They say. “Be consistent on social media. Post daily, post reels, post videos, post carousals, post anything, but post every day”. Every day?

Consistency is the only truth in life, it seems.

We are consistently told about the vices of life from the day we have cognition. Then we are sent to school to start the journey of our life, consistently.

We go to the same school (in most cases) every day at the same time, meet the same classmates and the same teachers, and sit on the same bench for a year. And then to another, for another year, and so on.

We are consistent!

Unless we flunk, we spent twelve years of our life with the same classmates and going to the same school (in most cases). Seeing the same faces every day. Years after year.

No one addresses this issue ☹

We are consistent!

Then the monotony of ‘consistency’ breaks.

We leave schools and everything associated with them.

Then we enter college. We have new friends, but then again, we consistently go to the same college and meet the same classmates and the same professors.

The monotony returns and continues until we graduate and move to the next level.

The consistency breaks for a while until we find a job and then another job. But inconsistency is taboo. So, we are advised against such inconsistency and to stick to one company and wait for that elusive career growth.

Marriage breaks all monotony. Now, we cannot be consistent. We need to innovate new tricks to keep our spouses happy. Inconsistency is the ‘mantra’ to a happy married life 😊

But alas! We are trained to be ‘consistent’ and flee from our inconsistent marriage to the cradle of our work (read: office) to get transformed into the Robot that we are. The ‘Consistent Sapiens”.

Bottomline: spend more time with your spouse, life will be much colorful 😊
